Never before in the history of the world have artist been able to communicate with others to this incredible degree. The internet is a portal into the soul the of the artist. The world can now see into the soul of the art.
I believe that it is my honor to create art for the internet. My fascination with internet art started with vaporwave. The cool pastels and iconic symbols from roman-greeco sculptures to nostalgic video game motifs, the aesthetics caught me like a bee to a flower. I was smitten. I began to paint vaporwave paintings as some of my very first paintings. I felt like I was living inside of a beautiful computer world. As a hung each vaporwave painting that I finished on my walls, I feel at peace.
After my vaporwave obsession, I looked towards other internet aesthetics. My art became more and more experimental. And began to have a hard time explaining hat was happening. Now I realized I making art about how the digital and analog where meeting. Eric Schmidt original says this idea, I completely agree with him. Then suddenly I painting "Microsoft Paint". At the moment I felt everything I could have possibly said about being a painter in a digital world was wrapped up nicely in a beautiful and interesting painting. My experimentation was over.
Now after two years, I am creating portraits. Now as I step away from painting and create digital art for the internet, i have felt severed from nature. The analog part of my art is missing expect for one major presence.. the sitter. The sitter in my portraits are what ties my art back to nature. As I look on the faces of the people I create art about I feel that even in a digital world, we all still exist in a natural one.
I'm not sure what my art will look like next. Actually I do, I am still very much painting, but my paintings now I keep somewhat secret. My new paintings hardly have anything to do with technology and, so maybe that's why I feel less inclined to exhibit them as net-art or internet art. But someday the world will see them. Until then I will simultaneously make digital art, since this I feel is the ultimate new frontier for artist.
