While making art I sometimes think about how my art will be viewed in the distant future. I'm very conscious of this fact. I remember the first time I saw a mummy case and how I can feel how this artifact came to me from thousands of years ago. The Egyptians believed in the eternal and wanted their art to last forever. I realized that the the art I make today must be viewed by humans thousands of years after I am dead. With that in mind, I chose the the type of images I want to preserve. I want to be very selective about my personal canon. I want to reach the level of Egyptian greatness and adsorb their idea of lasting forever.
