Recently reported by Mathew Robinson at CNN "Myspace apologizes after losing 12 years' worth of music" and I feel really worried now. I hear about the digital dark age, and I feel like a dark cloud is rising in the distance. The classical era of the digital age may be coming to end.
I remember Myspace like it was an internet history back button. I remember logging on and being wowed by the effects. Friend requests, photo likes, comments, messages and most of all the music.
I enjoyed customizing my personal music playlist. I played music by The Killers, The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs and Queen. Like my soul the music I selected revealed a lot about who I am. The music seemed endless. And I thought that Myspace would last forever. I was wrong.
By the end of the 00's Myspace was dying. I no longer felt like expreessing myself through Myspace. I just felt like exploring other moments online really.
With Myspace melting away, I wonder what's going to be next? My painting of M.S.Paint was about several moments and one was techadence (technology + decadence). Google, YouTube, Facebook, even this too may go away...
