What can I say? Kardashian, West and Murakami. How fascinating.
Kim and Kanye visited Takashi Murakami in Japan this week. How fascinating. Pop art has always had a special way with celebrities. Takashi, who's one my favorite living artist, worked with Kanye West on multiple occasions to create great works of art.
I visited Fort Worth, TX earlier this year to see Takashi's art exhibition "The Octopus Eats it's Own Legs". There I saw two large paintings by Takashi featuring the art that was created for Kayne's "Graduation" album. Also, in the show a sculpture of the bear mascot that sparkled in it's gleaming, glittering glory.
Kim Kardashian West entering into the world of art makes my soul happy. Perhaps she'll start engaging more with the art world like her husband. I just think Kim is always just so glamorous. It'll be fun to see what kind of artistic influence she'll have over other artists. Doing portraits of her has already given me a wonderful sense of happiness.
I talked to my brother, who's a major Kanye fan, about this recent art moment and asked him why he thinks Kim and Kanye support the Pop artist Murakami. "They're Feeling The Moment" is all he said, and I absouletly agree.
