Pop art is one of the freshest, imaginative and most beautiful world in art that continues to inspire until this day.
My fiery fascination with pop art was first lit by my hero Andy Warhol. I remember crying in front of a large pastel colored skull painting and knew then that pop is power. Since then I learned about many other pop artist from the 50's and 60's including One artist named Roy Lichtenstein.
I am also a huge fan of fashion. I love the beautiful and artistic expression one can find in fashion clothing. To my wonderful surprise and delight I came across a collection by Moschino created by designer Jeremy Scott. Now, I believe Jeremy Scott is very wonderful because he often uses pop art in many of his wonderful clothes. I remember being wowed by a barbie collection Scott had made in 2015.
One of the newest collection is the Fall/Winter 2019. This collection brings out wonderful feelings inside of me. I can spot Roy Lichtenstein's spirit in the comic book women whose faces appear in the prints. Some models had their skin colored in with pastel blues and greens, a definite vision of Andy Warhols portraits where Andy would color the skin of the sitter in many wondrous color. I next fell in love with Jackie O's persona which the models expressed through their hair and silhouettes. This vision of Jackie brings back images I've seen by my Hero Andy Warhol, whose art depicts portraits of Jackie from 60's photographs.
All in all I remain fascinated by the 1960's and pop art in general. There's a huge sense of WOW and excitement about culture that I love. I think this WOW can be felt in the 60's and pooled with Andy Warhol who was consistently wowed by everything too. I feel inspired by this fashion show. I think the fashion is inspiring because of it's pop art, beauty, and love.
