A and I went to the San Antonio Public Library. What a great institution. I went through a lot of the art books on the second floor. The area for art books is full of color! All the floors are carpeted in highly saturated hues and the book shelves reflect light as they are made out of colorful plastic. I went directly to the pop art section of course.I discovered a new book about pop portraits and this book focused on the artist who popular during this movement. I next found myself looking through the a fantastic section going over the history of portraiture. Oh how fun it was to find a book on self portraits of artists. I who create self portraits all the time felt as though we were all sharing blood of the same vein. It’s fascinating to think that an artist five hundred years ago created art in the same manner as I am.
The art books were absolutely heavenly and gave me leagues of inspiration. I met up with A who was on the fifth floor. There he was sitting right in front of a window with a spectacular view of the city’s downtown area. He was reading graphic novels. What a beautiful sight.
After when we left A talked about seeing the world in a new perspective. I think this is true. Knowledge is great because it can expand the mind. Nothing can compare to the huge gifts one comes across while exploring the wide world of information. I liked the feeling of seeing the world afresh. I looked out the car window and saw a new wonderful world.
